Gospel

Lk 6:39-42

He also told them a parable: “Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? A disciple is not above his teacher, but every one when he is fully taught will be like his teacher. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye.

It’s time to take back your life.

It’s time to slow down to the speed of joy.

All revolutions have a moment when they begin. This is your moment.

It’s Time for a Vision Test

Is there a word or phrase or an idea that jumps out at you today? Of two for me. The first phrase is fully taught. Jesus says, no disciple is above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully taught will be like his teacher. Are you fully taught? Are we fully taught? I think not, right? But that's a beautiful thing. Are we even striving to be more fully taught? And how fully taught are we open to being when it comes to our spiritual life? Then the other phrase that jumped out at me was see clearly. And then you will see clearly. How clearly are we seeing? And what is it that stops us from seeing clearly, especially in a spiritual sense? What is it that stops us from seeing situations in our lives and in our world clearly? What is it that stops us from seeing our personalities, our character, our actions clearly. Of course, at the root of all of that is sin. Sin stops us from seeing clearly. Sin stops us from being fully taught. So let's ask God today to give us the desire to be fully taught, to give us the desire to see clearly, so that we can live more fully in this world as his disciples. Have a great day, and remember, Be Bold, Be Catholic.
