Lk 9:1-6
And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal. And he said to them, “Take nothing for your journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not have two tunics. And whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them.” And they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

Your Great Healing Power
What jumps out at you today? For me, it's the word heal and the phrase, "And to heal." From the sentence, "He sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal." I wonder how He is sending you and me out into the world to heal. I think sometimes when we think about healing, it's easy to go towards the miraculous, but there's all sorts of healing taking place every day, ordinary types of healing. Obviously, doctors doing work, healing people, and all sorts of therapists creating all sorts of therapy and healing. I see my son going to speech therapy, and the healing that is created through that speech therapy. It's amazing. It's mind-blowing.
How is God sending you out to heal? We're all capable of healing loneliness. Maybe God's sending you out to heal somebody's loneliness today. A lot of healing takes place just by being with people. A lot of comfort for people just by being with them. And maybe God is sending you out there to be with somebody today.
Let's invite God to use us to heal. Let's invite God to send us out into the world just as He sent the 12 out to preach the good news and to heal. Let's ask God to send us out to heal today. Have a great day. And remember, Be Bold, Be Catholic.
