While he was speaking, a Pharisee asked him to dine with him; so he went in and sat at table. The Pharisee was astonished to see that he did not first wash before dinner. And the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside you are full of extortion and wickedness. You fools! Did not he who made the outside make the inside also? But give for alms those things which are within; and behold, everything is clean for you.

Denounce It Now
What is it that jumps out at you? So Jesus denounces the Pharisees, and it's a great word, isn't it? Denounce. What do you need to denounce? Maybe there's a habit in your life that you need to denounce. Maybe there's a perpetual, ongoing, persistent sin in your life that you need to denounce. Maybe your friends are always gossiping. Maybe you need to denounce that, and if they're not willing to move beyond that, maybe you need to denounce them and move on to a new friendship group. But there's something in your life right now that needs to be denounced. And so as you make your way through your life today, just encourage you to think about what is it in your life that God is challenging you, calling you, encouraging you to denounce so that you can step one step closer to Him, one step closer to the glory He created you for?
