Lk 12:54-59
He also said to the multitudes, “When you see a cloud rising in the west, you say at once, ‘A shower is coming’; and so it happens. And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, ‘There will be scorching heat’; and it happens. You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky; but why do you not know how to interpret the present time?
“And why do you not judge for yourselves what is right? As you go with your accuser before the magistrate, make an effort to settle with him on the way, lest he drag you to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the officer, and the officer put you in prison. I tell you, you will never get out till you have paid the very last copper.”

It’s time to take back your life.
It’s time to slow down to the speed of joy.
All revolutions have a moment when they begin. This is your moment.

The Missing Piece to Your Puzzle
We've sort of got two readings. Remember every day we're looking for a word, a phrase, or an idea that the Holy Spirit uses to capture your attention. What was it for you today? When you had this first reading about being able to read the signs, and then you've got the second reading about if you got a dispute with your neighbor. Did the Holy Spirit draw you to the first one? Or did the Holy Spirit draw you to the second one?, in the first one, Jesus says, "You see the clouds rising in the west, like it's going to rain." And that's good, but it can also be problematic.
It can also make us feel like we know more than we know. And what is Jesus saying? He says, "Yeah, but you don't understand the present time." And in many ways, I think they weren't even really trying to.
In many ways, often we're not trying to get caught up in, "Okay, I got to take the kids to soccer and pick the kids up from school, and I've got this project you at work, and I've got this person who's bothering me, and I got this other problem, and my sisters aren't talking and this sort of thing." And I think we can develop this arrogance of thinking, "Okay, we've got the whole jigsaw puzzle. We're just missing a couple of pieces." And that can be tremendously frustrating. You put together a jigsaw puzzle and then you realize you're missing a couple of pieces.
But I think in reality, there's this jigsaw puzzle, and we've actually got a couple of pieces, and we're missing all the other pieces. And we learn a little bit and we stop. Our father, oh yeah, God's my father. Tell me about God your father. Never really thought about it that much. I don't know that much about it. We learn a little bit and then we stop. Because we think we see the big picture and we don't. We have fractions and fragments. So as we go into the world today, let's ask God to reveal more to us. Ask God to give us another piece in the puzzle.
Let's be constantly curious about God, about ourselves, about other people, about this amazing world he created for us. Have a great day and remember, Be Bold, Be Catholic.
