Lk 17:20-25
Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, he answered them, “The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; nor will they say, ‘Lo, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.”
And he said to the disciples, “The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and you will not see it. And they will say to you, ‘Lo, there!’ or ‘Lo, here!’ Do not go, do not follow them. For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of man be in his day. But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

Yearn for Jesus
What jumps out at you today? There's a couple of things for me. One is, Jesus says, "A day is coming when you will yearn for one of these days with the Son of Man," with Him, saying this to His disciples. When I think about that, it's like imagine spending every minute of every day with Jesus for three years and then dies on the cross, rises from the tomb, ascends into heaven. I think we all know what it means to miss somebody and to miss somebody deeply. My father, dead 20 years, I still miss him deeply. And when we're kids, we know the feeling of heartbreak, right? You're in a relationship, and then he doesn't want to be with you anymore, or she doesn't want to be with you anymore. And it breaks our hearts. And so imagine, what was it like for the disciples, for Jesus to be there and then not? And what was that longing? And how do we manifest that longing in ourselves, that longing, that desire to be with Jesus, to be close to Jesus? Because I think that is an incredible gift. Incredible gift to yearn for Jesus.
Have a great day, and remember, Be Bold, Be Catholic.
