Lk 19:45-48
And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold, saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer’; but you have made it a den of robbers.”
And he was teaching daily in the temple. The chief priests and the scribes and the principal men of the people sought to destroy him; but they did not find anything they could do, for all the people hung upon his words.

Let's Talk About Anger
So Jesus, He comes into the temple. This is obviously a famous scene. And my kids talk to me about this scene sometimes and they're like, "Dad, Jesus was angry." And I said, "Well, yeah, he was. And you got to keep in mind, kids, that he's God yet fully divine, but he's also fully human." And then one of the kids is like, "Well, but isn't it bad to get angry, Dad?" I said, "Well, no, not necessarily. Sometimes anger is the most appropriate response to a situation." Now, there's ways to express our anger, but the goal of life is never to get angry. If some horrible things happen, then it's appropriate. When we see injustice in the world, it's appropriate that we get angry.
And so Jesus was expressing the most appropriate emotion in every situation, this one included. And of course, that's what he calls us to do as well. But I asked the question at the beginning, what's happening in your life at the moment that Jesus would like to drive out of your life?
Because sometimes we read a reading like this and we think, "Well, I'm not really sure how that applies to me." And that sometimes can be the case, but also can be the case that we can always look at a reading and say, "Okay, but in what ways does it apply to my life?" And I read this and I think, "Okay, what's happening in my life that Jesus wants to drive out of my life at this time?" And I got my things, and no doubt you've got your things. Let's take them to God today.
Let's lay them at the foot of the cross, and let's say, "Jesus, drive these out of my life." Have a great day. Remember, Be Bold, Be Catholic.
