Lk 21:5-11
And as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with noble stones and offerings, he said, “As for these things which you see, the days will come when there shall not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.” And they asked him, “Teacher, when will this be, and what will be the sign when this is about to take place?” And he said, “Take heed that you are not led astray; for many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and, ‘The time is at hand!’ Do not go after them. And when you hear of wars and tumults, do not be terrified; for this must first take place, but the end will not be at once.”
Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.

Don’t Delay Your Salvation
Is there a word or a phrase or an idea the Holy Spirit uses to draw you into this reading today? For me, it's this idea that Jesus says, "Here's the temple. They're all wandering at the temple. They're all talking about how great the temple is."
And Jesus says, "All of this come crashing down. Not one stone will be left upon the other." And that question for Jesus is, "Oh, how would that happen? And what would the cause of that be? And is there anything we can do to prevent that from happening?" No. Their question is, when will that be? And what will the signs be that this is about to take place? My kids ask me questions like that sometimes. And what is it? It's an attempt to avoid preparing now. They're basically saying, "Well, when are we going to do this, Dad?" So they get ready two minutes before we're going to do this, even though they know they should be getting ready for something right now. And it's human nature, I guess. We want to delay. We want to be the last one in the door. And Jesus is saying, this is a very bad strategy when it comes to salvation. Jesus is saying, as soon as you hear the message, start preparing your heart, your mind, your soul now, today. Do not delay. People are going to say this sign, that sign. He's essentially saying ignore them. They don't know what they're talking about. What are you pushing off? That's my challenge for you today. What are you delaying? What are you pushing off? Something in your own life that you know I should be taking care of that right now, but you're pushing it off to next week or tomorrow or next year or whatever it is.
What is Jesus saying? Saying, take care of it now. Have a great day. Remember, don't just be yourself. Be the-very-best-version-of-yourself, all that God created you to be.
