Jn 6:16-21
When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea, got into a boat, and started across the sea to Caper´na-um. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. The sea rose because a strong wind was blowing. When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat. They were frightened, but he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” Then they were glad to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.

Are You Blocking God?
Welcome back to Radical
and Relevant. How are you today? Are you rushing into your day? Do you need to take a
breath before you get started? If so, let's do that. Let's take that breath and really
allow the gospel to sink its roots into our day. Today's reading is from John 6:16-21,
"When evening came, Jesus' disciples went down to the sea, got into a boat, and started
across the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. The
sea rose because a strong wind was blowing. When they had rode about three or four
miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat. They were
frightened. But he said to them, 'It is I, do not be afraid.' Then they were glad to
take him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were
going."
It's amazing how quickly Jesus' presence can change things.
It's amazing, our capacity to block Jesus' presence from our own lives, to block Jesus'
presence from certain situations, and then to become mindful of the fact that we are
blocking Jesus' presence from our lives, from situations, and we open ourselves to His
presence, and it's amazing how quickly a situation can change. That's what the disciples
experienced today. That's what I want to experience today. That's what I want you to
experience today. So let's think about an aspect of our lives where we're blocking
Jesus' presence. Let's invite Jesus fully into that aspect of our lives today. Have a
great day. Remember, be bold, be Catholic.
