Unify Your Life

Welcome back to Radical and Relevant. Today's Gospel is from John 17:20-26.I do not pray for these only, but also for those who believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, even as thou Father art in me and I in thee, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. The glory which you have given me, I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one. I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. Father, I desire that they also, whom thou hast given me, may be with me where I am to behold my glory, which thou hast given me in thy love for me before the foundation of the world. A righteous Father, the world has not known you, but I have known you. And these know that thou hast sent me. I made known to them thy name, and I will make it known that the love with which thou hast love me may be in them all and I in them.

So again, we have this language of John, which is beautiful language, but you can get lost in some of this language. Remember, we're just looking for a word or a phrase or an idea to anchor our day. The one that jumped out at me, the word and idea was one. Jesus talking about the unity, the unity between Him and the Father, the unity between Him and His followers, the unity between His followers and other followers. He's talking about this oneness. He's talking about this unity. And it brings us to think about, is there unity among within ourselves? Okay, what do we call that? We call that integrity. Integrity, when a life is put together, when there is unity within a person, when different aspects of the person line up to that person's values, characters, aspirations, faith. We call that integrity. And so let's think about the oneness of self today, the integrity of self, and our oneness with God, our connection with God. Perhaps you picked up another word or phrasal idea, that's great. Take that out into your day, anchor your day in the gospel. Have an amazing day. And remember, be bold, be Catholic.
