Wake Up Your Awareness

Gospel

Mt 23:27-32

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. So you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous, saying, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ Thus you witness against yourselves, that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers.

It’s time to take back your life.

It’s time to slow down to the speed of joy.

All revolutions have a moment when they begin. This is your moment.

Wake Up Your Awareness

What is it that jumps out at you today? For me, you know, I've probably shared this with you before. You know, when I try to imagine the Gospels, I try to imagine myself as each person in the Gospels. And imagine Jesus saying to you, woe to you, like, woe to you, Matthew. You hypocrite, like what what would that actually feel like, and and of course the the Pharisees scribes they're they're unaffected because they're that's the nature of their arrogance, that's the nature of their detachment from reality, that's the nature of their um their hard-heartedness.

What is it that jumped out of you today? And maybe what is it in your life that God wants to say woe about? Woe to you. It isn't a condemnation, it's an invitation. It's an invitation to grow in awareness. He says, you hypocrites. What's central to hypocrisy? A lack of awareness of reality. So Jesus is trying to awaken us, trying to give us greater consciousness. He's trying to help us to see things as they really are and see ourselves as we really are. Have a great day. And remember to Be Bold. Be Catholic.
