Divine Mercy is–
Infinite.
Free.
Bold.
Powerful.
Trustworthy.
I am–
A pilgrim of mercy.
It's a grotesque analogy, but one we will all understand. Imagine someone deposited billions of dollars into a bank account for you, but you never went to the bank to access any of it. Imagine you had billions of dollars in the bank, but were living on the streets and starving. This is the relationship we have with the peace that Jesus left us. Jesus said, "My peace I give you, my peace I leave you." Everyone I know would like a deeper sense of peace. We have all thought or said things like, "Ah, I just need a little peace and quiet." And you know what? We're right. We need a little peace and quiet. Now imagine how vast the peace of God is. That peace is your birthright. It's your inheritance as a child of God. But we treat it like having billions of dollars in the bank and never stopping by to make a withdrawal so we can use it for ourselves and others. The peace of Christ is not like the fleeting calm we experience when life is easy or the temporary relief when a problem is solved. It is something far greater, an unshakable peace that can steady us through any storm. Imagine if we truly embodied the peace of Christ in our daily lives. How would we live differently?
We would no longer be consumed with anxiety over things beyond our control. The peace of Christ reminds us that God holds us lovingly in the palm of His hands and He is with us in every moment and that his love is greater than any challenge we face. This peace liberates us from worry and allows us to live with trust and confidence. This peace would also transform our relationships. When we embody the peace of Christ, we are less likely to react with anger, frustration, or impatience. A peace-filled Christian approaches others with compassion, gentleness, understanding, and love. When people spend time with you, do they settle into a deep, peaceful feeling? Do their anxieties fade into the background? Do they breathe a little easier? Do their burdens feel a little lighter? The peace of Jesus becomes the foundation for building stronger, more compassionate communities. A peace-filled Christian listens more deeply, forgives more freely, and prefers unity to division. On a personal level, the peace of Christ provides personal clarity about who we are, what we are here for, what matters most, and what matters least. The peace of Jesus liberates us from all the distraction and chaos around us by providing an extraordinary inner calm.
The people of our age are restless, anxious, agitated, fidgety, tense, unsettled, on edge, jittery, impatient, depressed, uneasy, frazzled, distracted, nervous, worried, fearful, stressed, overwhelmed, apprehensive, and in desperate need of God's gift of peace. Mercy always precedes peace. When the priest says in the mass, "Let us offer each other a sign of peace," we have already begged God for His mercy with the Kyrie during the Penitential Rite. Without mercy, there cannot be peace. There cannot be peace, not in our hearts, not in our worlds, not in our families. Peace is the fruit of mercy, and the peace Jesus gives us is contagious. He fills us with His peace and sends us out on mission as pilgrims of mercy. One of the most famous prayers in Christian history is the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi. Let's pray it together. Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love, for it is in giving that we receive. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
When we embody the peace of Christ, we become instruments of peace in a restless world. Our presence becomes a calming force, a reminder that true peace is possible. So how would your life change if you fully embraced the peace Jesus offers? Imagine a life where fear no longer holds you back, where love flows freely, and where joy becomes your default state. That's the promise of Christ's peace, a gift He is waiting for you to accept. And how do we access the peace Jesus offers us? You stay warm by staying close to the fire. Stay close to Jesus and you will live in His peace. Jesus said, "My peace I give you. My peace I leave you." Let's choose to live in that peace and share that peace with others today. Trust, surrender, believe, receive.

Nor become despondent–
But with great confidence–
Submit ourselves to your holy will–
Which is love and mercy itself.

Hey, Isabel, one of the best ways to be a pilgrim of mercy is to collaborate with God to create holy moments. So I figured, while we have a couple of minutes, you could inspire the audience to create some holy moments. So what is today's Holy Moment Challenge?
Today's Holy Moments Challenge is forgive yourself
