What is it that jumps out at you today? Remember looking for a word or a phrase or an idea that jumps out at you that God uses, the Holy Spirit uses to capture your imagination, to draw you into the gospel in a new way, in a deeply personal way. For me, it's this idea that Jesus has come to do the will of the Father. This is the will of the one who sent me. And He repeats this, "For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes should have eternal life." So for me, there's a few things. One is like the will of the Father is clear, eternal life for all of His children. That's clear. But what is clear to me more on a day-to-day basis is that Jesus was in constant communication with the Father. He was constantly communicating with the Father. He's constantly referring to the Father, constantly referring to his communications with the Father. He was very, very, very clear that He wasn't here to do His own will. He's here to do the Father's will, which I think is a radical humility. I think it's modeling that was obviously very, very intentional. And I think it challenges us to think and ask and explore.

How seriously are you and I seeking the will of God in our day-to-day lives and in the different things happening? How seriously are we seeking God's will? Are we seeking the will of God? Or are we just doing our own thing, doing our own thing and then when the will of God becomes clear, do we cast our eyes away from it and move away shamefully or arrogantly or whatever it is? Let's go out into the world today and try and have that relationship that Jesus had with the Father. Let's be in contact with the Father. Let's be in constant communication with the Father. And let's ask ourselves, what is the will of God for my life? What is the will of God for this situation? What is the will of God in this relationship? What is the will of God in this circumstance?
